“When I say I speak from experience, I mean it. I’ve been there. I know what it is to feel out of depth, to look up from a seemingly bottomless pit- I also know how to break free.“
Prior to 2010, I always enjoyed being the life and soul at parties, even being a bit of a party animal. Throughout university, my working career, marriage and even after starting a family socialising was a big factor in everything that I did. Looking back at photographs, I was always pictured with a glass in my hand.
Slowly the amount and the frequency was increasing to the point it stopped being fun and became both a physical and more importantly a mental battle.
When I tried to take a break from drinking I found that I thought about it even more and this constant psychological tug of war in my head would not stop until I decided to take control back and do something about it.
“Allen Carr’s EasyWay gave me a new lease of life by showing me Alcohol for what it really is. The feeling of freedom is infectious, of course I wanted others to feel the same”
Having heard about the success of the smoking seminars and realising that the method was just as successful for drinkers as it was for smokers I made the decision to go for it. I remember feeling both petrified and excited at the same time. What would happen to me if it worked and where would it leave me if it didn’t? I needn’t have worried.
That was back in 2010 and here I am now running my own Allen Carr Easyway to Stop Drinking clinic in Manchester and having run seminars in London, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney, who would have thought that all this was possible because I had stopped drinking.
